Skunk XL from the seed bank of Royal Queen Seeds is a marijuana plant from the Cannabis family known as Old School as it is a direct descendant of the orginal Skunk which was a crossing of several different cannabis genetics from different parts of the world.
It is a crossing of different indigenous plants from countries including Afghanistan, Mexico and Colombia with a composition of 50% sativa and 50% indica ending up with Laureda, a legendary marijuana plant.
Royal Queen Seeds has improved this already amazing marijuana plant, creating the new XL version capable of yielding sweeter and more productive buds and it is now available, feminised, at Alchimia Grow Shop.
The growth of this marijuana plant is vigorous from the start reaching, and with no exaggeration, a height of between 1.5m to 2m tall with a long and productive, large and bulky main bud.
With indoor cultivation you can grow about 10 plants per m2 with a production of 65-75 grams per plant obtaining a total of 500 g/m2 with a 600w HPS light taking into account it is a productive marijuana plant.
At Alchimiaweb we emphasise that outdoor crops prefer warm climates in order to give the grower great results and productions that can reach 700gr per plant when grown in the ground. Royal Queen recommend growing this strain in regions where rainfall doesn't appear until autumn and due to its fast flowering it will escape it.
To complete flowering it needs 7-8 weeks of bloom to obtain big compact buds full of a thick layer of resin that covers all your flowers and will give the consumer an instant euphoric and psychedelic effect accompanied by a gentle, relaxing bodily sensation.

Hey, when would be the best time to switch my light patterns to induce floqering? I've had the seeds in for 3 weeks, they've developed well and stand about 3 inches tall with several sets of leaves. I know flowering takes about 8 weeks, but I'm wondering when I should be helping to induce flowering?

Hi ChrisD,
You should wait until your plant reach about 40-50cm, otherwise they'd remain too short and yields sould be lower. Keep in mind that it all depends on the stretch of the plant during the pre-flowering stage. For some strains, 30cm is ok since they grow crazy once you switch to 12/12, while others hardly grow at this stage, so it's better to switch to bloom when they're about 50-60cm.

Hi KeefiG, you can germinate the seeds from mid-april (if you want a big plant) until mid-june, one of the best time would be mid-may to end of may ;-) Best regards !
