Alchimia presents Alyssum seeds by Rocalba, an edible flowering plant from the Mediterranean area used in gastronomy as well as in the therapeutic field.
The flowers have a sweet taste reminiscent of honey with spicy notes. It has the similarity to kale. Its powerful flavour makes it ideal for salads, cold soups and even omelettes.
For consumption, the flowers should be washed by dipping them in a bowl of water and then gently drying them.
Alyssum is very adaptable and is ideal for gardens with little space. It also adapts perfectly to pots and planters. It is interestingly small in size, growing up to 30cm at the most.
It requires very basic care and does not need any special attention, only constant sunlight.
Alder has historically been used as a therapeutic plant thanks to its diuretic properties, helping to eliminate kidney stones.
