Genetics and origin of the cross

Durban Z is the result of crossing Durban Poison and Original Z, two reference varieties with complementary profiles. Durban Poison provides the elongated structure and cerebral effect characteristic of African sativas, while Original Z adds potency, resin density, and an unmistakable floral aesthetic: purple streaks that run through the buds in the final stretch of flowering. Being an F1 hybrid, the expression between plants is uniform and harvests are predictable, with growing vigor superior to conventional varieties. The resulting ratio is 70% sativa / 30% indica.

Growing behavior

Indoors, Durban Z completes its flowering in 56 to 65 days and maintains a height of 110 to 150 cm. Its semi-open structure favors natural canopy aeration and responds well to common training techniques: topping, FIM, and LST. The buds are elongated, with foxtail-type morphology, lime green bases with those purple streaks inherited from Original Z, and a dense and showy trichome coverage.
