Information

GD SeedMix is a very light and fine 100% organic substrate, ideal for germination and cuttings. Manufactured in France by Guano Diffusion, it combines blond and black sphagnum peat with organic pre-basic fertiliser, providing an optimal environment for the first days of your plants' development in organic farming.

What is GD SeedMix and what is it for?

GD SeedMix by Guano Diffusion is a substrate specially designed for the initial stages of cultivation: germination, seedlings and cuttings.

It is a fine mixture of blond and black sphagnum peat which, together with an organic fertiliser NPK 5-3.5-8 in moderate doses, provides complete organic support. It can be used as seedling soil, in germination trays or small pots. It is a substrate certified for organic agriculture according to the European regulation EC 834/2007.

How to use it?

• Use directly in alveoli trays or small pots.
• Water gently at the start so as not to dislodge the substrate; maintain constant humidity (not waterlogging) to help germination.
• No extra nutrition is required for the first few weeks, thanks to the built-in organic fertiliser.
• Ideal in indoor or outdoor growing conditions, always maintaining good drainage and ventilation.

Advantages and outstanding features:

• High water retention capacity: favours a constant humid environment without waterlogging.
• Balanced pH, around 6 (measured in 1/5 ratio), ideal for most seeds and cuttings.
• Low-medium conductivity, suitable fertiliser ratio.
• 100 % organic compound and suitable for organic farming, under NFU 44-551 standard for growing media, and with organic matter (~ 85 %) on dry product (~ 35 %).
• Light and fibrous texture thanks to sphagnum peat, which allows good aeration of the developing roots.

Differentiation from similar products

Many seedling substrates are simple mixtures without fertiliser or with added chemical fertilisers, which makes it necessary to supplement from day one. GD SeedMix already incorporates an organic base fertiliser, which reduces the risk of burns, compensating nutrients in a gentle and organic way. In addition, its light texture and water retention make it more reliable at start-up than too dense or dry substrates. Its French origin and organic certification distinguish it from brands with no guarantee of origin.
