Genetics: pure Afghan indica preserved by Tom Hill

This is a landrace from the Afghan Hindu Kush brought to California in the late seventies and selected over decades by breeder Tom Hill. Cannapot started from Tom Hill's original seeds received in the early 2000s to produce this IBL line, without hybridizations or subsequent crosses. The plant reflects that origin: compact and bushy structure, short internodes and little stretch, with very uniform growth between specimens.

In cultivation: simple and very rewarding

Deep Chunk flowers in about 8 weeks indoors and is harvested in late September outdoors. It tolerates cool temperatures well and accepts generous fertilization, while also showing good resistance to pests and diseases, making it suitable for both beginners and experienced growers. It performs best in dry and sunny areas, and works equally well in greenhouses, balconies or terraces. Indoors, a carbon filter is advisable: its smell is intense and far from discreet.

Flavor and effect: coffee, chocolate and sour skunk

The aromatic profile is dense and dark, with roasted coffee and dark chocolate over an earthy pine background, finished with accents of sour fruit and skunk. On the palate it's spicy with that hashish touch typical of Afghans. The effect is bodily and enveloping, the kind that invites slowing down the pace, with the potency you'd expect from 24% THC. Its abundant resin production also makes it a natural candidate for extractions.
