Lemon Balm is a perennial plant that exudes an intense lemony aroma. Its leaves, when infused, have sedative, antidepressant and digestive properties. Lemon Balm essential oils are used to prepare ointments for sores, wounds and insect bites.
It is a branchy plant and can grow up to 60cm. It is very easy to cultivate, it likes semi-shade and is not demanding with the soil. It can grow well in rather poor, but well-drained soils. Watering should be moderate, avoiding waterlogged soils.
