Hello Alchimia!
I have a small grow tent on which the holes for air intake/out take are about 150mm wide. Since the tent is very short (100cm), I wanna use the smallest carbon filter and extraction fan possible and those seems to be the ones in that pack. But the size says 100mm. So my question is, does the size of the holes really matter ? Or is size just to make sure the carbon filter and extraction fan match together ?
Also, if I don't use anything on the bottom hole, just good old passive air intake... how do I make sure light is efficiently blocked there ?
Muchas gracias para vuestra ayuda

Hi and thaks for your comment and question. Yes, you can certainly use a smaller diameter fan or ducting in most tents, as the holes for ducting are usually fitted with inner and outer sleeves with drawstrings which enable you to pull them tight around the ducting, preventing air and light from escaping/entering. This means that you should be able to close the hole completely when it's not in use. If you want to leave it open to allow passive air intake then use a length of ducting (without a fan) to prevent the light getting into the tent.
I hope that helps, all the best and happy growing!

I'm building my own grow box from a closet (96cm x 28cm x 61cm). will the '100/200m3 Alchimia air extraction kit' be good to start with? or do you people have any better ideas? I'm tight on money so I can't spend that much..

Hi Stijn,
This air extractor is more than enough for your grow tent (it could actually work for larger spaces). What is interesting is always purchasing an extractor with much more capacity than needed, so you can adjust its speed to 50-60%. In this way, everything is much more silent. An extractor with a capacity of 200m3/h running at half its speed is always more silent than a 100m3/h extractor.
Thanks for your confidence.
