Gorilla Glue 4 Cannabis
Gorilla Glue 4 aka GG4 is one of the most popular strains in the international cannabis market. Since its creation, an increasing number of growers wish to harvest plants with high-quality flowers full of resin, great power and high production. This variety has won many highly reputable cannabis competitions such as the High Times 2014 Cannabis Cups in Michigan and Los Angeles in, from where it quickly became famous.
Gorilla Glue has been used to create many crosses, it is the genetic base for developing new and potent cannabis hybrids particularly suited to resin extractions. Many of these new varieties are presented here to facilitate your search for genetics containing Gorilla Glue genes.
It is worth mentioning the legal dispute that occurred with the name of this variety. Due to threats from theh manufacturers of the Grilla Glue brand of adhesives, Joesy and team were forced to change the name of the variety to Original Glue or GG#4, and currently we can find these genetics described by their acronym GG#4 and also by the previous Gorilla Glue name, both being the same variety.
Gorilla Glue history
Gorilla Glue was created in Las Vegas by US grower Joesy Whales from an unexpected cross between Sour Dubb x Chem Sister and Chocolate Diesel caused by a security scare which meant that Joesy had to suddenly move all 80 plants he was flowering to another location. Upon their safe return to his place, the Sour Dubb x Chem Sister plants were stressed out and developed some male flowers, accidentally pollinating the whole crop of Chocolate Diesel.
After this hermaphrodite incident, Joesy was understandably displeased and ended up giving away most of the seeded weed. However, his friend Mardogg held on to some of the seeds. One year later, Joesy and Mardogg set up a grow together, germinating 6 of these seeds. They selected phenotypes 1, 2, and 4, this last one becoming GG#4, the most well-known and reputed clone of all.
Gorilla Glue offers high psychedelic potency and a crazy resin production that accumulates on its flowers and leaves. The name itself originates from the scissor blades becoming glued together by the sticky trichomes while trimming the buds, quickly making them useless.
From this incredible accidental crossing was born the famous Gorilla Glue, which gives THC levels of up to 30%. It offers notable flavours and aromas containing lemon and pine notes with menthol hints accompanied by a sweet chocolate and coffee undertones.
Gorilla Glue#4 hybrids
After GG#4 took off on the international cannabis market, being a strain that was only available in the form of clones, plenty of seed banks worked to develope crosses with it either in S1, in a feminised format or by combining GG#4 with other quality strains, flooding the market with new and exciting Gorilla-based hybrids.
Hybrids with GG4 genetics are usually productive, resinous and vigorous plants with distinct aromas and flavours, and a powerful psychedelic effect, with the most positive traits of Gorilla Glue resulting dominant in the majority its hybrids.
Many auto-flowering hybrids have also been created producing rapid harvests both indoors and outdoors.
