Garden Nasturtium

Alchimia presents Nasturtium seeds by Rocalba, an edible flowering plant with a wide range of uses. Besides the culinary uses, it offers a large number of beneficial properties such as antioxidant and diuretic among others.

Nasturtium has a spicy taste similar to watercress or wasabi. It is perfect for all kinds of salads, and Rocalba encourages you to try these edible flowers with cream cheese or butter in canapé format or in a cheese and tomato sandwich. The seeds can be crushed and used with parsley in garnish or to make capers.

For consumption, the flowers should be washed by dipping them in a bowl of water and then gently drying them.

It is a plant easy to cultivate, preferring warm and temperate climates, but it also withstands frosts well as long as they are not very long lasting or strong. It prefers constant and moderate watering, avoiding waterlogging so that the roots do not rot and to prevent pests such as aphids.
