Conferences on medical cannabis in Spain and France
During September and October 2016, two major events are highlighted in the European medical cannabis agenda, which will be presented on this article. Do not hesitate to participate!
Presentation of the Observatorio Español del Cannabis Medicinal (Spanish Observatory of Medical Cannabis)
This event will be held on Tuesday, 20th September 2016 from 08:30h to 17:30h at CaixaForum, Madrid. The entrance is free mainly thanks to sponsors like Canna, Endoca, Dinafem or the Alchimia Solidària Foundation. The conference room has a capacity of 322 people, so if you want to attend the conference hurry up and fill the form at OECM's website!

Global cannabis legalisation is the main goal of any marijuana activist, but in reality that seems a fairy tale if we take a look at the different models followed by the countries which have tried to regulate this plant and its use in a greater or lesser degree. At first glance, regulating a plant may seem an easy, simple task, but it implies plenty of aspects and fields which must be taken into account (growing, distributing, consuming, advertising, sale of cannabis seeds or cuttings...).

Biopics are movies inspired by real events that are highly appreciated by the public, which often enjoy to know a true story. This is our selection of films, those movies about the adventures of growers or dealers that we find most interesting.
Mister Nice, The Film (2010)
The most frequent readers of our blog already know Howard Marks, who honoured us by visiting our shop together with his friend Shantibaba. Released in 2010, this British film tells the story of one of the most important hashish dealers in the history, travelling from Pakistan to the USA with multiple identities and smuggling tens of kilos of weed and hashish.

The 2016 Biocup
Alchimia was lucky to attend the third edition of the Biocup, in Barcelona. This event, organized by the Zebra Verde club, gathers both professionals of the cannabis sector and members of any of the associations participating in the event.
This year's edition took place in Finca Mas Solers, Sant Pere de Ribas, from the 27th to the 29th of May. This former "Gran Casino de Barcelona" is an exceptional spot for an event of this type, with plenty of space for outdoor activities and also to relax and taste the samples entered to the cup.

Mr. Nice, Howard Marks dies at 70
Sadly, today - Monday - we rose reading about the death of the famous activist Howard Marks aka Mr. Nice. Howard died of an inoperable bowel cancer diagnosed in 2014 on Sunday 10th of April, 2016 at the age of 70. He died peacefully, surrounded by the love of his 4 children. The cannabis world mourns the death of this unique character.

2016 Dab a Doo Barcelona
Tenth edition of Dab-a-Doo
Last Wednesday, March 9, 2016, the tenth edition of Dab-a-Doo was held in Barcelona, the third edition hosted in this city. Dab-a-doo is, probably, the most important extract competition held in Europe, organised by Mila from the Pollinator Company, historical figure of hashish manufacturing. Some of the guys of Alchimia's team could attend this event. Here you have a summary of this splendid tasting session.

HempCon Cup, Bakersfield, 8-10 January
The cannabis cup of HempCon, an event especially focused on medical marijuana, with dispensaries, legal services, care givers, etc. There are other HempCon editions across the USA: San Francisco, Las Vegas, etc.
The HempCon Cup will also be held during these days, with growers, breeders, extract artists, edible chefs and many more!
2016 Cannabis Cup THC Valencia
The sixth edition of the prestigious Cannabis Cup THC Valencia took place on Saturday, 30th of January 2016 in the Valencian capital from 11 a.m. to 23 p.m. This competition, organized by the cannabis users association THC Valencia, has increasingly gained popularity with each edition, becoming a reference in Spain and Europe thanks to the good vibes, number of visitors (more than 600) and the quality of the samples, which were divided into 4 categories: Indoor, Outdoor, Hashish and BHO.

The 6th edition of the THC Cup will be organized once again by the THC Valencia association, with more than 150 contesters. It will be held on the 30th of January 2016 from 11 a.m. The cup is divided into 4 categories: Indoor, Outdoor, Hashish and Oil (BHO).
