The 2016 Biocup

Alchimia was lucky to attend the third edition of the Biocup, in Barcelona. This event, organized by the Zebra Verde club, gathers both professionals of the cannabis sector and members of any of the associations participating in the event.

This year's edition took place in Finca Mas Solers, Sant Pere de Ribas, from the 27th to the 29th of May. This former "Gran Casino de Barcelona" is an exceptional spot for an event of this type, with plenty of space for outdoor activities and also to relax and taste the samples entered to the cup.

Mr. Nice, Howard Marks dies at 70

Sadly, today - Monday - we rose reading about the death of the famous activist Howard Marks aka Mr. Nice. Howard died of an inoperable bowel cancer diagnosed in 2014 on Sunday 10th of April, 2016 at the age of 70. He died peacefully, surrounded by the love of his 4 children. The cannabis world mourns the death of this unique character.

2016 Dab a Doo Barcelona

Tenth edition of Dab-a-Doo

Last Wednesday, March 9, 2016, the tenth edition of Dab-a-Doo was held in Barcelona, the third edition hosted in this city. Dab-a-doo is, probably, the most important extract competition held in Europe, organised by Mila from the Pollinator Company, historical figure of hashish manufacturing. Some of the guys of Alchimia's team could attend this event. Here you have a summary of this splendid tasting session.

HempCon Cup, Bakersfield, 8-10 January

The cannabis cup of HempCon, an event especially focused on medical marijuana, with dispensaries, legal services, care givers, etc. There are other HempCon editions across the USA: San Francisco, Las Vegas, etc.

2016 Cannabis Cup THC Valencia

The sixth edition of the prestigious Cannabis Cup THC Valencia took place on Saturday, 30th of January 2016 in the Valencian capital from 11 a.m. to 23 p.m. This competition, organized by the cannabis users association THC Valencia, has increasingly gained popularity with each edition, becoming a reference in Spain and Europe thanks to the good vibes, number of visitors (more than 600) and the quality of the samples, which were divided into 4 categories: Indoor, Outdoor, Hashish and BHO.

THC Cup (Valencia, Spain), 30 January 2016

The 6th edition of the THC Cup will be organized once again by the THC Valencia association, with more than 150 contesters. It will be held on the 30th of January 2016 from 11 a.m. The cup is divided into 4 categories: Indoor, Outdoor, Hashish and Oil (BHO).

During 2001, Grayson Sigler and Kelly Sigler travelled through the United States and Canada with a Mercedes Benz 1-Class using a very original fuel for their vehicle: Bio-diesel made from oils extracted from cannabis seeds. Hemp seeds contain high amounts of oils that can be easily converted into bio-diesel, suitable for any Diesel engine. What would seem crazy to some people is actually completely viable, as this couple of activists showed to everyone: yes, cars can be powered by bio-diesel engines using fuel from hemp seeds!
